Starting to Work Again: Open Studio Cambodia

In Open Studio Cambodia, Lauren Iida — a Japanese American artist based in Cambodia and Seattle— curated work by seven Cambodia artists. Her organization enables Cambodian artists by mentoring them in professional practices such as establishing a studio and selling work’ . Through sales and donations supported years of their work in their home country. The Khmer community of Seattle joined the exhibition for two live events; first, a dance performance by the Khmer Dance group and second film screening of a documentary by a local artist and Iida about post-Khmer Rouge art practices in Cambodia.
